A Unique Learning Experience

Leading & Innovating Together is a deep-dive learning experience in collaboration with highly regarded regional and national subject matter experts to explore key issues across content areas with a unique blend of speaker expertise, learning tracks, and presentation formats.  Curated to meet the broad and diverse needs of the regional HS/EHS community, participants will expand their understanding and application of best practices, widely-accepted management principles, and quality initiatives.  Whether in-person, live-streamed or on-demand content, the series offers convenient, affordable and quality learning experiences that promote breakthrough thinking and collaborative problem-solving for both emerging and seasoned HS/EHS leaders.

2023 ERSEA Summit: Helping Decision Makers Explore Solutions to Critical Issues Impacting Head Start Enrollment

As a professional in the Head Start, early care and education, childcare, or human services community, programs understand that the Head Start Act requires all grantees/awardees to meet and maintain full enrollment. This is not an option, it is mandatory, and with good reason. The Head Start average annual cost per child is $7,300+ and in Early Head Start it is $10,500+ annually. Statistics show that some programs struggle to meet and maintain full enrollment which equates to approximately 180,000+ vacancies annually.

This 2-day ERSEA Summit is designed to strengthen participants knowledge and skills required for leading and managing Head Start teams to meet the mandates outlined in the Head Start Act, Final Rule on Head Start Eligibility, Part 1302.10-18 of the performance standards, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Special emphasis will be placed on the unique roles governing bodies, executive agency-level staff, as well as program-level directors and managers play in designing ERSEA systems, processes, plans, policies, procedures, and workflows to meet and maintain full enrollment in Head Start.

Emerging and seasoned professionals of varying specialties will benefit from this unique learning experience. It is the ideal management retreat experience, and grantees are encouraged to register as an organizational team: Chief Executive Officer or Executive Director, Board and Policy Council Chair/Members, Head Start Director, Finance Director, Human Resource Director, Information Technology Director, Operations and Program Coordinator, Content Area Managers, Supervisors as well as others who hold a position of responsibility and accountability in ERSEA.  Each participant will:

• Be equipped with knowledge and skills fundamental to the creation of a viable ERSEA team approach.
• Understand ERSEA systems needed to meet regulatory requirements.
• Understand leaders and managers roles and responsibilities relate to ERSEA compliance.
• Understand reasons root causes of under-enrollment.
• Understand ideas, strategies, and solutions to meet and maintain full enrollment.
